The Law Firm of Daniel & Hudson, PLLC, was formed by the joining of two of South Texas' most potent trial lawyers. Douglas S. Daniel began his practice in 1981 after graduating cum laude from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. From the beginning, he concentrated on defending the "citizen accused" in criminal cases. Originally his practice was concentrated in San Antonio, and he still represents clients there today; but over the years, his practice expanded to include the many rural counties of South Texas. Over the past 30 years in practice, Mr. Daniel has developed an intimate familiarity with the various courts, judges, prosecutors, and staff in almost every county south of San Antonio. This is an invaluable asset to his clients, who appreciate the old maxim "it's not what you know, it is who you know." Mr. Daniel has years of experience representing clients charged with everything from felonies such as
murder, serious drug offenses and
sex crimes to the less serious misdemeanors such as driving while intoxicated. He is also well respected by his peers, having been recognized several times as being among San Antonio's Best Lawyers As Selected By Their Peers.
The ability to aggressively represent a rapidly growing clientele was greatly enhanced in November of 2007 when Mr. Daniel was joined in practice by Mr. Brandon T. Hudson. Prior to agreeing to join Mr. Daniel in a partnership, Mr. Hudson also attended St. Mary's University Law School. Shortly after graduation, Mr. Hudson took a position as the first chair felony prosecutor in the District Attorney's Office for the 81st and 218th Judicial District. This office covers the counties of Atascosa,
Wilson, Karnes, Frio and LaSalle. As a felony prosecutor, Mr. Hudson represented the State in all types of serious crimes, including those involving capital murder. During his ten years as a felony prosecutor, Mr. Hudson distinguished himself as a courtroom advocate. He has an extensive knowledge of prosecution trial tactics that makes him an invaluable resource to this firm and the clients it represents.
Upon leaving the District Attorney's Office, Mr. Hudson joined Mr. Daniel and they formed the partnership of Daniel & Hudson, PLLC. Almost from the beginning, Mr. Hudson was retained in a number of high profile cases, the most significant of which were the series of trials involving the Fundamental Church of the Latter Day Saints. He too has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as one of San Antonio's Best Lawyers As Selected By Their Peers. In addition, he is board certified in criminal law. This means that he has demonstrated to the State Bar both through his practice and his performance that he is someone who has superior knowledge and abilities of the area of criminal defense.
